LAIIC's Radiologists at PIH Health's 2021 Comprehensive Stroke Conference

Los Angeles Imaging and Interventional Consultants' team is pleased to announce their participation in PIH Health's 2021 Comprehensive Stroke Conference next Friday, October 15th!

Dr. Sabeen Dhand and Dr. Shao-Pow Lin will present their own radiology research topics at the first radiology event of its kind.

PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital received the Target: Stroke™ Elite Plus award for meeting quality measures developed to reduce the time between the patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke.

These awards recognize PIH Health’s commitment and success in implementing a comprehensive, high-standard stroke care.

Overview

This conference is organized to provide an overview of recent updates and discuss practical issues surrounding the delivery of state-of-the-art stroke care. Through formal lectures, case presentations, and interactive discussions, this comprehensive stroke conference will explore critical issues surrounding the assessment, management, treatment, and prognosis of stroke in the acute, sub-acute and non-acute settings.

Educational Objectives

  • Identify best practices in acute and post-acute treatment for stroke

  • Examine the latest advances in critical care, surgical management, and endovascular intervention of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients

  • Review the role of multidisciplinary care in stroke

  • Appraise the diverse challenges in the care of stroke patients from various cultural backgrounds

  • Review the role of the stroke coordinator in the continuum of stroke care

Target Audience

This course is designed to meet the educational needs of: adult neurologists, neurosurgeons, interventional radiologists, internists, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, primary care physicians, and radiologists, as well as fellows in training, advanced practice stroke nurse practitioners or clinical nurse specialists, and registered nurses with a special interest in acute stroke management and treatment.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT FOR CEU:

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is an approved provider for continuing education hours for Nursing through the California Board of Registered Nursing, BRN Provider Number 00261. 8.0 hours of continuing education will be provided for the full day of attendance.
